For me the pohutukawa in bloom puts me in the Christmas spirit. This one was seen at Pt Chevalier Beach on Saturday when we were out for a stroll along the beach. It was early evening and family groups were still enjoying their beach picnics.
We celebrated in our traditional way the next evening by lighting the third candle on our Advent stand, enjoying some gingerbread cookies and listening to some nostalgic German Christmas carols.
